Tired Boy

February 10, 2006

tired

So it’s 6:27 in the a.m. I’m sitting here enjoying a cup of coffee and a breakfast burrito. I have to go to work. We have inventory at 5:30 in the morning on Sunday in my store and I know for a fact we’re not ready for it. My district manager and 3 or 4 store managers are coming over to my store today. I have no idea why I traded with a fellow supervisor for this early morning shift to get craps done. Crap. It’s gonna be a long day.

Animal Crossing

Perhaps a little influenced by the video-game art site Lifemeter, I decided to draw my character in the virtual world of Animal Crossing for the Nintendo DS. This game occupies much of me and my girlfriend’s time as we decorate our house and clothing and write letters and fish and craps. Anyhow, it’s a rad game that you should check out.

The problem with having a digital camera is that you tend to take a crapload of pictures. A crapload. You don’t have to get film developed so you take a bunch of pictures of crap you wouldn’t ordinarily take. I spent a good chunk of this evening going through pictures me and k.t. tok back in August for crying out loud. Seeing some of these pictures surprised me. I’m astounded by how many freaking pictures of the cat we’ve taken. There’s some cool shots I’ve found, such as this one of a bird taking off from our porch.

Rain Day

February 3, 2006

Holy craps. Today was a wet freaking day. I vaguely remember my girlfriend saying something about it raining when she went to class at 9:00 am. I continued sleeping until 11:30 or so, when I had to get up. I looked outside.

raining outside

It was still raining. Shit. I don’t drive and it’s a 10-15 minute walk to work. Dang. I threw on a jacket and started walking. It was raining freaking hard. Once you get wet, it doesn’t really matter anymore. I got about halfway to work and the stocker I work with had come to pick me up (I talked shit about him here) and so he’s okay in my book now. Work sucked. It was super slow because of the weather. It’s probably not a good thing when you can’t see your state on the radar. Hopefully my shoes will be dry before tomorrow.

Ballpoint Sketch

ballpoint sketch

This is an old sketch from back in 1999. From time to time I experiment with different techniques and such and I like how this one turned out.
