Pet Peeves. This week’s topic at Illustration Friday.
Stupid cell phone earpiece things. I don’t like them. At all. Or the jerks who talk loudly about nothing in particular in public spaces.
I tried to do something a little different with the coloring, rather than the Photoshop of gradients onto my line art. I used textures from photos. Those are my actual bloodshot eyes on my cartoon eyes. I actually own that shirt. That’s my hair, and so on. It turned out okay. Something I’ll definitely try again in the future.

Artwork from the Guinness Book Of Phenomenal Happenings from 1976. I just picked it up from the local thrift store the other day for a quarter. I dig the heck out of the artwork by Kenneth Laager.
This is the largest Easter egg ever. Made in Australia in 1974, it was 6 feet high, 13 feet 3 1/2 inches in circumference. The thing weighed 648 pounds. Not too sure if this record still stands or not.
A quick googling says it doesn’t.

I made this font way back in 2001.
It works best at large sizes.
Named after the Molotov song/album.

Holy craps. A brand new font! As some of you may know, I used to run the Spork Thug Typography website. I made a couple hundred fonts in the late 90s and early 00s. After a hard drive crash and some money issues, I let the site kind of dissolve. This was in 2002. At least twice a week or so I get emails from people asking about my fonts and such. I decided to get the type thing going again.
I plan on adding all the old fonts and updating some of the crappy ones on Fridays, with my usual crappy artworks the rest of the week. If anybody has any requests. let me know.
The font here, Take No Prisoners is an approximation of my little scribbly handwriting when I scratch out little notes to myself around the house and at work. I wrote this out using a tablet rather than scanning actual writing in, but I think it looks pretty good.
I happened to be listening to some Aesop Rock, the track Coffee particularly when I was working on this font, hence the name.
