Pet Peeves
Pet Peeves. This week’s topic at Illustration Friday.
Stupid cell phone earpiece things. I don’t like them. At all. Or the jerks who talk loudly about nothing in particular in public spaces.
I tried to do something a little different with the coloring, rather than the Photoshop of gradients onto my line art. I used textures from photos. Those are my actual bloodshot eyes on my cartoon eyes. I actually own that shirt. That’s my hair, and so on. It turned out okay. Something I’ll definitely try again in the future.
I have to agree with you. Those earpieces make me think that they are all related to Lt. Uhura from the original ‘Star Trek’ and that they’re all connected to the Mother Ship or Starfleet Command or whatever otherwise thing there is to make them feel so self-important. They annoy me (can you tell?). Fun illustration and I think your experiments with texture are successful.
Yep, those things seem totally worthless to me…unless you’re trying to look like a secret service agent or Jack Bauer. I’m waiting for some sweet contacts with nanotech implemented that overlays my visual input with all kinds of coolness…now THAT I could get behind.

I remember the first time I saw someone with a headset thingie, I didn’t realize it was a phone. I thought the guy was crazy, heh.
The kitten makes the illustration perfect.
A bunch of fuck head ass clowns…I want to rip them off his/her head and drop kick them into a swamp of assholes.
