Day 4 (Of 13)

Published by Rev. Josh under Art, Comics, Me, Mew, Pen & Ink

hungry

It’s funny how I can totally sleep through our cat Mew’s whining and scratching for food, I’m the heaviest sleeper of like ever. My girlfriend gets woken up way early whenever the cat decides she wants to eat. Since poor Mew is stuck with just me for the next week or so, she gets to wait.

(My girlfriend k.t. is out of town for two weeks. I’m documenting my time without her.)

A Stiff Upper Lip

a stiff upper lip

Another 1-hour comick based on a random Win Lose Or Draw card topic. Another one ending in a pointless death.

Yesterday: The Comic

Published by Rev. Josh under Art, Comics, Me, Mew, Pen & Ink, kt

I had yesterday off of work and I thought I’d do a little art project. I chronicled my day in panel by panel comic form. One panel for each hour of the day of something I did. And then I realize I have a boring lame existence. Except for the sex of course. That’s one thing I do have going for me. Enjoy. I may do some more if you all dig it, the comic I mean. (Apologies for the quality of the pictures. I had to take a photo of the art because 11×17 is too big for my scanner.)

Kangaroo Court

win lose or draw

I picked up the home game version of Win, Lose Or Draw at the local thrift shop the other day. The girlfriend and I used to draw Pictionary card topics as fast as we could as a drawing exercise (I may post some of those later). I planned to do something similar with this. It’s been a while since I had seen the show, so’s I forgot the cards had phrases and such on them. A little harder to draw quickly and well.

We bought a jumbo pack of 11×17 bristol boards to draw our comick on several months ago. I decided to do little stories based on whatever is on the card I pull out. Furthermore, I put an hour time limit from the looking at the card, to idea, pencils and inks. One hour. Not really enough time to make it great, but to keep it interesting.

The first one I had k.t. pull and it was Kangaroo Court. I was not familiar with what the heck that was and she said I should do marsupials with powdered wigs and crap. And I did. I like the resulting page and I’m gonna do some more.

Day One

Published by Rev. Josh under Art, Comics, Me, Pen & Ink

My girlfriend k.t. has officially embarked on a weeklong or so trip to Hawaii with her family. I will be doing a daily comick specifically for her so’s she can keep up with what me and the cat are doing. The dame is awesome and I already miss her horribly. She is the Beavis to my Butthead as illustrated in the comick below. (Yes, that is a compliment.)

Lunchtime Fun Comick (Zombie!)

Zombie Job Interview 3-23-06 (4:05-4:31)

So I drew this crappy little comickstrip during my lunch break today. Drawn using the crappy ballpoint pen and dot-matrix paper that was already at work. I kind of like the constraints of such an undertaking. Trying to draw and eat in limited timeframe may have varied results, but I like this first installment. I originally was going to have zombies in line at an unemployment office, but that would’ve been a little more complicated. Yeah.
