An Anterior View of Human Musculature
A look at a recent commisioned piece that I’ve been working on for a while:
The idea was to do a medical illustration type thing. The pencils:

The inking probably took the longest out of any of it:

A picture of me with the artwork to give an idea of the size of the piece:

Throw some lettering and some watercolors on it. And blood. Some of my actual blood, and this is what you get. From the start to finish it was a little over 1o hours of work and I think it turned out pretty dang good.

Stitch

The theme for this week’s Illustration Friday is Stitch. Any time I can draw some sort of zombie creature, I’m in. Technically this was two zombie creatures that some mad scientist type guy stitched together. I drew it in two different parts with my trusty Rapidograph pen and splashed some watercolors on them. I went into my girlfriend’s sewing kit and sewed them together, the threadwork is shoddy at best as I haven’t sewn anything since the required Home Ec class in 7th grade. I slapped it on some construction paper and there he is.

Juggle

It’s been almost a year now since I last did something for Illustration Friday. I don’t really have any kind of reason, but I knew I needed to get back into it. And here it is. Juggle. I’ve been drawing these weird characters lately and decided to start out with some weird guy. What to juggle? I have a collection of children’s science books obtained from thrift store shopping and found some spherical objects to juggle. Believe me, this was the least weird combination I came up with. Even with the head.

Arseface

I’ve been making my way back through the Preacher series recently and thought I’d draw one of my favorite characters. Arseface. He who has the face of an arse after a failed suicide attempt. Probably one of my favorite comic books of ever. If you haven’t read it you should definitely check it out.

Mario

Jeez. That Italian plumber is kind of a dick when he has a few drinks in him.

Stop
A quick little ink/watercolor piece on a suggestion from a randomly chosen Pictionary card. The word was Stop and I wanted to do something a little different than a red octagon. No idea who this cat is, but he’s really short. Or the bus stop sign is really tall. I don’t know. It turned out okay, I guess.
