I have a rather large collection of thrift store yearbooks and I’ve been drawing some random folks in them.
This is Abi. He was in a technical school yearbook from 1994. Not too sure what weirdness he was doing with his neck in the photo, but I hope it’s resolved now.
The Assistant Principal in a thrift store yearbook. The look on his face seemed like he really didn’t want to be there for picture day at all. I started coloring him and he ended up turning into a Romero zombie, which seemed appropriate with that look of his.
I found a yearbook for Normal Community High School in Normal, Illinois from 1961 at a thrift store. This is an ink and watercolor portrait of the principal.
The local thrift store is a goldmine as far as old yearbooks go. I’ve picked up 20 or so from them over the last couple years. I’m going through them and drawing some of the folks within.
Here’s an ink and watercolor of Father Stavros from a local Christian school.
A P.E. teacher from a thrift store yearbook. Kind of a creep.
