I thought I’d give this ‘drawing normal things’ thing a try here. This is me at age 10. Twenty damn years ago.

Tuesday was kt’s birthday and this was the card she got from me. We’re nerds. Me as Leia and Mew as Jabba. Mew has a little habit of crossing her paws all the dang time and that’s what her thought bubble is referencing.

Pet Peeves. This week’s topic at Illustration Friday.

Stupid cell phone earpiece things. I don’t like them. At all. Or the jerks who talk loudly about nothing in particular in public spaces.

I tried to do something a little different with the coloring, rather than the Photoshop of gradients onto my line art. I used textures from photos. Those are my actual bloodshot eyes on my cartoon eyes. I actually own that shirt. That’s my hair, and so on. It turned out okay. Something I’ll definitely try again in the future.

Yep. This is what my girlfriend got from me yesterday.

I worked at Wendy’s in high school. Money for comics and videogames. While it wasn’t the worst job I’ve ever had, it’s not really resume worthy. Working with a bunch of other high schoolers, the place turned into Burger World from Beavis and Butthead when the manager wasn’t around. Frying things we shouldn’t, food fights and general mischief. Somebody found the labeler and this became my nametag. I don’t remember what exactly it means, but not too much of the stuff I did around that time made any kind of sense.

When I decided to finish a sketchbook for 2007, I had the same problem for my 2006 sketchbook: I was way behind when it came to December. That being said, I had to do a bunch of drawings in a month and several on December 31st to get it done. This is good and bad. Good as it gets me drawing a lot. Bad in that it forces me to draw, which usually isn’t good. See what exactly came out the last day of 2006 for my sketchbook here: Part One and Part Two.

Which brings us to 2007’s sketchbook ending. I had been drawing for a couple hours. I drew the Homie in the previous post. And then I drew several pictures that were damn awful (those you don’t get to see, they’re way lame trust me) Then came this first picture here. I was tired and I slammed a couple beers. I drew it and once I got out the naked picure of myself, the next three were easy. I’m starting a new sketchbook and maybe it’ll end a little better than this one.

My hair was as long as it ever has been. People were calling me ma’am. The girlfriend was sick of finding my sheddings everywhere. Time for a haircut. My last one was way back in January.

I made a little piece of artwork for me and my girlfriend’s 7th anniversary. She likes my little hand drawn cards and the like, so I will continue to make them. The video’s sped up like 4 times. I made the musick for it as well. If anyone wants an Mp3 of it, let me know.
